Baya Karve awarded to Director of Niwant

December 28th marks the memorable event for the Niwant organisation.

Since 1996 the award called Baya Karve is given to women working in the social and education fields. This year Niwant was indirectly honoured with this award.

Meera Anand Badwe – The founder of Niwant Andha Mukta Vikasalaya has been awarded with Baya Karve, and it is a very big achievement and a pleasure for the whole organization.
Since 16 years she is working towards upliftment of visually impaired students.
Many visually impaired students around Pune and Maharashtra are able to stand on their feet, and they are going forward on the path of progress in their lives.

 

The award ceremony was held at Mahila Ashram High School (Maharshi Karve Stri Shikshan Sanstha). So the occasion was full of people. The people present were Team Niwant, the volunteers of Niwant, the students of Mahila Ashram highschool and family and friends of the honoured person.

The excitement was in the air. Everybody was very happy for this  golden moment for the entire organization.
